Lee Peckham
Partner

Lee qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and initially practised in differing areas of law, both contentious and non-contentious. From October 2003 Lee headed the Crown Court department of Matthews Henshaw Verrinder and consequently has dealt with a number of serious criminal trials.

Lee is a specialist in all areas of criminal law and in May 2007 became a member of the Law Society’s Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme. Lee is a duty solicitor and one of the firm’s specialist advocates; he appears daily in the local courts and police stations, dealing with the entire range of criminal cases.

Within criminal law, Lee has a particular interest in motoring cases. Lee has been successful in defending various road traffic allegations, sometimes involving “technical” defences. In addition, Lee has had success in mitigating the position following a guilty plea, either by arguing “special reasons” for not endorsing the driving licence, or by arguing before the Court that to endorse the licence would cause “exceptional hardship” to the client.

In addition to criminal defence work, Lee undertakes various cases within the Roach Pittis litigation department and deals with a variety of areas of litigation, including employment, civil and commercial litigation and general negligence claims.
